Zoe and Paul Bell introduce us to the new series: THE BIBLE and give us an overview of its history, content, meaning, importance and application. The Bible is the most selling book by far, it tells the story of humanity and is inspired by God himself.

Matt takes us up Mount Moriah together with Abraham who miraculously learnt  “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” (Gen 22 vs 14 NLT). Matt continues to explain how God tests us, wants to see obedience and how, ultimately, God provides.

Dave explains the context in which Moses meets God on Mount Sinai. Overwhelmed with his tasks leading the people of Israel, Moses needs to be taken out and given a different viewpoint from God. Matt explains with quotes from John the Baptist, Paul, Peter and Jesus himself that “what happens today” is “weirdly wonderful and wonderfully weird”. Baptism is a physical, symbolic and spiritual event which we celebrate today, hearing three touching testimonies.

Matt explains the vision and mission statement of Ashwood church: To be a spiritually healthy and growing church and to help people find and follow Jesus.
Zoe introduces the 2022 Vision for Ashwood to us that is embedded in this : “Climbing Higher - Seeing Beyond”.
This year, we will be looking at mountain experiences in the bible, how we can meet God corporately and individually, how we can help each other grow and how we can carry the good news down the mountains to the people in need of receiving them.

She reminded us that growing is more than just expanding in numbers, that it is linked to being spiritually healthy.
