Church Teams

We have some incredibly gifted and dedicated people who enable us to do everything we do as a church family! The most important quality for anyone looking to be on a team is to have a “servant heart”. We’re thankful to God to have so many people like this part of our church.

Children's team

Our Children’s Team oversees all of our activities and events for children. This includes our Friday Night Take Away Club, Holiday Clubs as well as our amazing programme for children on a Sunday morning. We aim to teach children the principles and stories of the bible but most of all that they are loved by us and loved by God! All of our activities are covered by our safeguarding policy and all our volunteers are DBS checked. Rich Reason (Staff Team) leads our Children’s Team and is co-ordinator for our Sunday children’s programs. If you are interested in volunteering in one of these activities then please get in touch with us through our contact us page.

Welcome and Hospitality team

We know it can be daunting for people arriving somewhere new for the first time! Our aim is to remove as many barriers as possible to make you feel as welcome as we can. From the Car Park, through the front door to eventually arriving into your seat - our Welcome and hospitality team will do their best to ensure you are well looked after! Our “pre-meeting café” is open from 10am serving a selection of refreshments, with an opportunity to meet people and pick up information on what is happening in Church. Our Welcome and Hospitality Team includes children and young people – so if you have younger people with you – then the younger members of our team are ready and waiting to welcome them too! For first time guests you will receive a welcome pack with helpful information about what it means to be part of Ashwood Church. If you are interested in serving in this team please get in touch with us through our contact us page.

Worship team

We believe that human beings are created to worship! And for us, the object of our worship is the creator God Himself! We are clear that our “worship” in it’s broadest sense is all about the way we live our lives every day. Which means that when we come together it is the overflow of the expression of our day to day thankfulness to God for who He is and what He’s done for us.

Our Worship Team do an amazing job of facilitating our expressions of worship at different times when we are together. (Sunday Mornings, Touching Heaven, Transformed Worship Nights) We place an incredibly high value on seeking God’s Presence. The Worship Team also help us to become better equipped to worship “God in spirit and in truth”. (John Chapter 4)

The worship team includes people who help to setup, pack down, control the sound and visuals as well as musicians and singers. They gather together regularly to practice and develop skills and also develop character and gifting. Paul Bell, David Castledine and Andy Beighton are our current Worship Leaders and Paul is the Worship Team Leader. If you are interested in finding out more about serving on the worship team please speak to them or get in touch with us through our contact us page.

Youth Team

“Elevate” is the name across all of our Ashwood Youth Work. All events and activities are facilitated by our lively Youth Team, led by Rich Reason our Children and Youth Team Leader. The team are passionate about helping young people not just survive the teenage years, but learn how to enjoy and thrive during them! We encourage our young people to get stuck in with serving on a team somewhere, and aim to support them throughout their time in education. Some of the work involved meeting young people on the street – focused in Coxmoor, where we have been building relationships over many years.

If you are interested in serving in this team please get in touch with us through our contact us page.

Pastoral Hub

Our goal within Ashwood Church is to create an environment where everyone, everywhere is involved in caring for one another – we want it to be a natural behaviour and part of who we are. Our LifeGroups, Children’s Zones and Elevate Youth are all important places where care and support are key. We also have our Pastoral hub who facilitate freedom and additional care across church. They provide training and support for additional needs whatever that might look like.

Bec Goody is our Pastoral Co-ordinator and oversees the Pastoral Hub.
