A New Home for Ashwood
For over 50 years, Ashwood Church has been at the heart of Kirkby, loving Jesus, serving people, and making a difference. What began in homes and halls became the Ashwood Centre: a vibrant community hub and church home.
But now, we’ve outgrown it.
Together, we’re building a brand-new home, a space designed for worship, mission, and community impact. With bold plans, experienced partners, and a clear vision, we’re creating something that will serve Kirkby for generations to come.
Join us as we step into the future, for Kirkby, for community, for Jesus.
Our New Home will create the perfect space for helping the people of Kirkby and beyond to find and follow Jesus for themselves.
We dream of a place that’s:
Welcoming – where the lonely find friendship, and every person feels they belong
Worshipful – where God’s presence is real, and prayer and praise flow freely
Transformative – where people grow in faith, purpose, and identity
Homely – a safe space to call (spiritual) home
Generational – serving children, youth, families, and older generations alike
Supportive – where families are strengthened and people find healing and hope
Joy-filled – buzzing with laughter, learning, food, fun, and life
Missional – reaching further, loving deeper, serving wider — all for the glory of God
Thin – a holy space where heaven meets earth
Seesaw – our vibrant toddler group
Storehouse – a lifeline foodbank for those in need
Youth Club – fun, friendship and faith for local young people
Café 22 – a cosy, welcoming space for everyone
Parenting Support – practical help for families
Holiday Clubs – creative fun during school breaks
Community Events – like our ever-popular Christmas Funday
Alpha & Discipleship – exploring faith and growing deeper
Worship & Prayer – the beating heart of everything we do
There are several ways that you can get involved as we look towards our New Home for Ashwood.
1. PRAY - We are firm believers in praying first, and of course praying throughout. Check out our monthly prayer meeting, our NHFA prayer that you can be praying at home, or join us at 20:24 wherever you are every day to pray for our New Home.
2. STAY UPDATED - Keep checking out this webpage, our email communications, our monthly updates in church, or just chat to one of the team. Being informed spurs our prayers, and our actions.
3. GIVE - We recognise that we will need a significant amount of money, time and expertise to ensure this all comes to fruition, so please consider if you can make a one-off or regular gift in support of our New Home. We will be praying for and applying for grant funding in support, but if you are able to give either a one-off gift or set up a regular donation, you can do so by:
