Helen explores what it means to remain fruitful in every season of life through the story of Ruth. Fruitfulness isn’t about worldly success or having a perfect life, but about remaining rooted in God so that His character grows in us.
Fruitfulness in loss: Ruth experienced the death of her husband but remained faithful to her mother-in-law, Naomi, choosing to accompany her to Bethlehem. Helen reminds us that grief is personal. By bringing our pain to God, difficult seasons can deepen our faith, strengthen our relationship with Him and develop greater empathy for others.
Fruitfulness in uncertainty: Ruth faced an unknown future but remained faithful rather than trying to control the outcome. We may not know what lies ahead, but we can trust the God who leads us.
Fruitfulness in everyday life: Ruth faithfully gathered grain to provide for herself and Naomi. Her humble, everyday work demonstrates that fruitfulness doesn’t have to be spectacular. Caring for family, fulfilling responsibilities and serving others are all opportunities to honour God.
Whatever season we face, we can bear fruit by trusting God and remaining faithful in the little things.

In this message, Bob launches a new series focused on being fruitful in every season, using the biblical story of Joseph. Joseph’s life was marked by extreme challenges, including betrayal by his brothers, slavery, and false imprisonment. Despite these unjust circumstances, the central theme emphasised is that the Lord was with him throughout every hardship.
Bob explains that fruitfulness is not contingent upon being in a perfect or comfortable location like a palace. Instead, Joseph demonstrated integrity and faithfulness in the pit and prison, serving others and using his gifts even when his own future felt uncertain . Bob asked us to consider what faithfulness looks like in our own difficult seasons. Rather than waiting for circumstances to improve, Christians are encouraged to remain connected to Jesus—the true vine—and seek opportunities to bless others wherever they are planted. Ultimately, the message highlights that God can work through any situation to bring about good and produce healthy fruit in our lives.
