Hope 08
In our villages, towns and cities – get on board
We encourage you all to get involved in Hope 08 and look for opportunities to speak and demonstrate the love of God to our neighbours and friends.
To have the best impact from the events planned we will need your help. Most important – plan to be there and invite your friends and family along. You could also get involved with planning, set up and pack down and pray for the team and event.
If you would like to get involved in helping with any of the events listed please get in touch. Contact Claire Bell on 01623 462116 or email claire.bell@ntlworld.com
Community Action
KIRKBY KINDNESS DAY
Saturday 10th May – a superb day of random acts of kindness. We spent from 10.00am – 4.00pm visiting shops, the police, fire station, the hosptial, the old people’s homes, the parks and 2 hours in the precinct having fun and sharing sweets and craft activities. It was a fantastic way of sharing a smile in Kirkby.

SOCIAL ACTION
On Friday 28th March more than 40 people ventured out in the pouring rain to clear the green space at the end of Southwell Lane, near the Hill Methodist Church. The weather did not deter people to get involved and the results by the end of the day were amazing. Thanks to everyone who got involved. Counillor Baird from Kirkby West wrote:
“I would like to thank your group for all the hard work and effort you put into clearing up the litter and rubbish from the Church Street to Sutton Middle Lane Nature Trail in the West Ward of Kirkby. As you are well aware that particular day was to say at the very least, very wet and windy, but nevertheless your group accomplished the task, determined not to give way despite the very poor weather conditions. Your community spirited action shows a true level of community commitment.” Cllr J Baird
