Sunday Afternoon Tea
About once a month around 30 of Ravenshead’s older residents come to Ravenshead Village Hall and have Afternoon Tea together. Most are collected by one of the Village Minibuses, and look forward to a welcoming cup of tea and an opportunity to catch up with their friends. In addition to enjoying tea together, the afternoon contains a short time of listening to musical items and readings, sometimes drama and discussions around the tables, and often a well known hymn to join in. We usually have a relevant topic that connects these items and helps us ask some questions about what we believe, and sometimes find some good answers!
Most of the people who come to Tea, for which tickets are sold, priced £2, know the Ashwood folk who organise the events through the very active community initiatives that are part of Ravenshead life for our retired people, and include the Day Centre, Ready Call (the good neighbour scheme) and lunch group.
We are always pleased to welcome visitors, and more information and tickets are available from Molly (01623) 401450, or Coreen (01623) 793229
